Boil Water
Boil Water
Effective 11 pm January 13, Fayetteville Public Works Commission water customers west of the Cape Fear River, are advised to boil their water, due to loss of water pressure in the PWC water system as a result of a 48" water main rupture on Thursday evening. The PWC advises that during this time, water be boiled rapidly for 5 minutes prior to all water use for human consumption including drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing hands, etc. Vigorous boiling for 5 minutes should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water as a result of the loss of pressure. Once the system pressure has returned to normal, the water will be tested and cleared for human consumption, as listed above. A notice will be posted when the advisory has been lifted. This advisory issued on Jan. 13, 2011 by: John R. Davis Distribution ORC Fayetteville Public Works Commission 1-910-483-1382
